The Boys From Brazil (1978) / music by Jerry Goldsmith

First things first: This is a VINYL RIP! I wouldnt post it unless I thought that it came out in reasonably good quality, but lets keep in mind that I am the guy who listens to audience recorded bootlegs of his favorite rock performers and has no qualms about the sound.

I dont think that this score is out on cd but can anyone weigh in on that point?

Aside from the presumed rarity, the score itself is just one of Goldsmith's absolute best; that recurring main title waltz-like theme is to die for and the ominous foreboding suspense motifs are some of my favorite movie music cues ever.

No question - its worth the few clicks and pops of the vinyl.
If you find yourself checking this one out, be sure to come back and leave a comment so I get an idea of how this sounds (again, I think its good for now, until someone can share a cd quality clean crisp sounding take on this one).

Thanks for this post. I had been looking for Brazil for years but could never afford the outrageous price tag. Anyhow, the pops are not too offensive, and the music comes through wonderfully. Thanks again, and looking forward to more gems like this.

I have the 19-track expanded version.

This is the track listing:

1. Titles
2. Gathering
3. Observing
4. The Evil Arrives
5. The Bug
6. Caulder's Death
7. First Victim
8. Frau Doring
9. Meeting An Old Friend
10. Killing
11. First Clues
12. Unbelievable Story
13. Maternity Hospital
14. Burning The Farm
15. New Providence
16. Ezra Lieberman
17. Guard Dogs
18. Confrontation with Truth

The audio has analog hiss so I'm not sure what the source is. If I have the opportunity I'll up it.

There is a cd of this, one of the Varese club editions from the late 80's/early 90's, but it's practically impossible to find now, and it's the same program as the lp.

Rumors have been going around for years about Varese releasing an expanded version of this, but if it ever shows up, it's liable to be Intrada that releases it, since it's related to ITC and Intrada did release and expanded CAPRICORN ONE.
