Lost Horizon (1973) / music by Burt Bacharach; lyrics by Hal David

Vinyl Rip.

Why?

Because someone had to post this...

With the right drugs, Bobby Van's big number "Question Me an Answer" just might make existential sense...

Now, why George Kennedy was denied a singing number in the film is a question I want answered...I mean, an answer I want questioned...I mean...oh, I dont know anymore, I think Ive lost my mind...

Goood God, it's only the one and only "Worst Remake In The History Of The World Ever"

This is actually a good film until they start "singing", great post :)

for bacharach fans id suggest looking for a bootleg of demos burt bacharach recorded singing solo on the piano one year before the release of the filme. it sound better than the soundtrack, even for demo recordings :)

OK, I'll go out on a limb here and admit that I actually like this album. It took several listens, true, and "Question Me an Answer" took me more than several. But even though this venture helped put the nail in the coffin of the Bacharach-David relationship, I still think Bacharach's songs here are brilliant, and I prefer these arrangements to those Burt did on his own album (called, I believe, _Living Together_). Maybe it's a testament to wretched taste on my part, but after I had focused on the music behind the singing, the singing itself began to grow on me--but you're right, thank God George Kennedy didn't get a singing part! "The Things I Will Not Miss" is the number that made me start liking the album, and my appreciation grew from there.

the whole is obviously deeper then the sum of the particles :-)

not being a big bacharach/david fan it gives me great joy to hear their songs murdered - ha ha!

An act of god or a sad turn of events... who knows? I certainly don't now.
